Notes from LARP-PS2 meeting 5-Feb-09. Present: A. Fisher, M. Furman, R. de Maria, Y. Papaphilippou, J. Qiang, C. Rivetta, R. Ryne, J. Smith, P. Spentzouris, L. Vorobjov, UW. Yannis presented the "frozen" PS2 lattice & reviewed its parameters. A copy of his talk will be on this Indico page once I get it. A MADX file is now available on the PS2 Wiki (thanks, Riccardo). The address is https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/bin/view/Main/PS2Collaboration Note that there are some changes since HB2008. The Wiki page clearly separates between the current lattice and older versions. Note that the current version does not have chromaticity sextupoles, these are maybe 2 weeks away. The space-charge group needs a lattice description with beam lines rather than sequences, Yannis thought he could provide that without undue effort. We discussed CM12 briefly. Dates are April 8-10. I expect PS2 to have a half-day session. In part because of the higher funding requested for FY2010 we need to make a good case (not that I think that would be too difficult!). Robert & Panagiotis indicated that they expect to have some results by CM12. Depends of course on difficulties in reading in the lattice. They are ready to roll. Miguel is looking into e-cloud build-up in the dipoles and expects to have results for CM12 as well. Claudio needs more input before they can start looking at (multibunch-) instabilities. (He may start by using the parameters of the new MI cavity (once they become known) that Fermilab is presently designing).
