Welcome to the first DUNE DAQ Simulation Hack Days event! If you're interested in understanding what data rates DUNE will have to work with, and how to efficiently reduce data while preserving physics information and quality, then join us to answer these questions. The hack days will include some getting started tutorials, but will mostly include coding sessions where we implement zero suppression algorithms and study their effect on simulation inputs. Our main goal for this event is to inform the DUNE Single Phase DAQ design of potential data reduction capabilities. Subsequent hack days will focus on refining these simulations further and addressing a number of other pressing questions for DUNE DAQ.
