Crew Chief Operations Summary

  • See Slide.
Linac
  • Marx's mod #5 issue, otherwise good weekend. Would like to install Laser notcher this week. More info to follow.
Booster
  • Will use $17 cycles for studies. BRF #10 issues, need 5-10 minutes oppertunistic. BRF#7 tuner dripper. Booster LCW supply & return pressure issues. BRF#3 asprin tab issue. Thanks to ops for access #10.
Booster Neutrino
  • Running well. 5Hz running issue. Wll continue 5Hz. operation.
BNB Experiments
  • Microboone cryo problem. May be contanimation issues. Rep-rate question asked.
Main Injector & Recycler
  • 520 vacuum issue discussed. Suggesting startup after extended DT (2+hrs) at slower rep-rate. (i.e. Numi cycle every 10 seconds untill @ equivalent # turns for max wattage, then increase rep-rate.)
NuMI
  • Kicker failure Friday, EE support fixed. Controls issues.
NuMI Experiments
  • Running well. Noticed reduction in intensity.
Muon Rings
  • Last week, ready to run. First time able to test critical device power supplies. One needed new contactor. Friday evening circulated 3 Gev beam, set up abort kicker with rough timing. Today try running 8 Gev beam, RF capture & closed orbit on agenda.
SY120
  • Ran well over the weekend. Reminder about outside temperature variation and the need to turn on NS2 sprinklers for extra cooling. Manual mode by Adam W. until PLC work to automate.
SY120 Experiments
  • Seaquest doing OK, MCenter Lariet still down with wire chamber. Will also replace filters. Mtest ready to take beam.
ES&H
  • Nothing to report.
EE Support
  • Friday replaced VCB @ MI-30 Lower PS. Kicker, some arcing on charging tank.
Mechanical
  • MI-40 Abort LCW pump #2 placed in 'hand' mode to run. Work order in for final repair of motor control MCC.
RF
  • BRF #3 asprin tab replaced this AM. BRF10 ready to be reconnected to anode ps (oppertunistic) Need 15 minutes no bean in MI for MIRF8 diagnostic.
MTA
  • Will be running cavity all week.
Controls
  • Muon crate $1F cycling, PS replaced. (AP10)
Instrumentation
  • Nothing to add.
FESS
  • No report.
