Description
Mon-Thurs Accelerator Scheduling Meeting
9 AM Meeting (14 Jun 2017)

Linac

  • Running well.
Booster
  • Running well.
  • Efficiency is down slightly due to the higher Linac output, and tuning continues.
  • The Linac Laser Notcher was run overnight on the $1D cycles for the first time and ran with no problems.
  • Early capture and cogging studies will occur parasitically.
  • Laser Notcher studies will continue.
Booster Neutrino
  • Had one RAW skid trip which ops reset.
BNB Experiments
  • Made improvements to the display which shows their discriminator trigger level and beam bunch structure. The previous problem with the first bunch being too small seems to have improved with tuning by Booster people.
Main Injector & Recycler
  • Running well.
  • Changed Tclock timing to accommodate G-2 running on Monday and that went well.
  • Parasitic RR TBT studies will occur today.
NuMI
  • Running well.
  • Still losing about 40 gal/day on the MI62 water system.
NuMI Experiments
  • Running ok.
Muon Rings
  • Ran to MC1.
  • Currently MC1 is open access.
  • Will switch to 8GeV mode later today and work on delivery ring orbit until Thursday evening or Friday when MC1 is ready for beam again.
SY120
  • I:HV703 supply failed Monday and interrupted beam for a few hours until repairs were made.
  • Enclosure C backup sump has been running since yesterday, so it should be checked out this morning.
SY120 Experiments
  • SeaQuest is taking data but their control room HVAC is not working. FESS is looking into a solution.
  • LAriat cryostat is full.
  • Mtest is installing an experiment today.
EE Support
  • HV703 overheated its filter resistor Monday night and repairs were made. The root cause of the initial failure of regulation is not clear.
Mechanical
  • Will top off MI62 LCW today.
  • F2 heat exchanger cleaning test was successful and that system will soon be available.
RF
  • Running well.
MTA
  • Inspecting cavity windows this week.
  • Will begin some aspects of Be cleanup when a tech is available.
FESS
  • Continuing recovery from the "Minos Muck" issues at CUB.
  • Chlorination of the Minos sump seems to be having a positive effect.
  • Addressing many HVAC problems around site because of the hot weather. SeaQuest control room cooling may require bringing in a rented portable system but options are being investigated.
  • A CUB LCW pump motor melted its plastic fan. Metal replacements are being sought.
Miscellaneous
  • As we approach the shutdown, please consider how much beam any upcoming studies will lose in the affected enclosures. Particularly lossy studies should be scheduled earlier if possible to reduce residual activation in the enclosures when the shutdown begins.
  • Please update the shutdown worklist.
