The interactions of heavy quarks in medium are believed to encode valuable information about the properties of the quark–gluon plasma (QGP). Recent experimental results suggest a strong coupling between heavy quarks and the QGP medium which require non-perturbative interactions. Current lattice-QCD provide valuable information but are not easily analytically continued to real-time physics....

Because of their large masses and long lifetimes, heavy quarks are dominantly produced from initial hard parton scattering processes and can experience the whole evolution of the Quark Gluon Plasma (QGP) created in high-energy heavy-ion collisions.
