Description
This contribution is a discussion in panel format from members of the community on the topic of “Overlooked Issues and Unintended Effects of Affirmative Action”. The intention of this panel is to discuss amongst members of the community, rather than experts, on topics of affirmative action and come up with a set of concerns arising from the community, as well as open a discussion of fairness beyond the labels of gender or minority.
Panelists will recount experiences about issues of equal opportunity and discrimination in the field. We will engage the audience for feedback and interactively draft a document of existing concerns to encourage a next wave of statistical analyses concerning awareness of the missing pieces in our current efforts on affirmative action.
