Dear INSS2017 student,
Welcome to the 10th International Neutrino Summer School 2017 to be held from August 7 through 18, 2017. We are excited to be hosting INSS2017 at Fermilab this year, and believe we have an outstanding program, group of lecturers, students and events lined up to make this a rewarding experience. With the opening day of the school only a week away, we wanted to take a moment to provide some information that you might find useful upon your arrival.
Day of arrival
While you will be responsible for transportation from the airport, the Q Center can help coordinate your transportation with other students arriving around the same time for those students staying at the Q Center. Please contact the Q Center for more information.
There will be a welcome reception from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Sunday, August 6 at the Q Center. Everyone is invited to this reception, regardless of whether they are staying at the Q Center.
The first day
For those staying at the Q Center, buses to Fermilab will leave Q Center at 8:15 am every morning and drop you off in front of Wilson Hall. The return bus from Fermilab to Q Center will depart after the last lecture or event of the day. You will receive instructions each day as to when and where the bus to Q Center will leave.
If you miss the bus in either direction, then you can use Uber or Lyft ride sharing services, or taxi cabs as alternatives. The Q Center staff can assist with arranging alternative transportation for Q Center guests. There are no readily accessible public transportation options between Q Center and Fermilab.
In order to enter the Fermilab site, you will need either a Fermilab ID or a government issued photo ID. Important additional instructions for foreign nationals can be found here. (See item (5).)
Classes will start at 9:00 am every day in Wilson Hall One West located on the first floor. The full schedule of classes and events can be found on the INSS2017 indico site, https://indico.fnal.gov/event/INSS2017. All relevant information pertaining to scheduled events and activities can be found on that site.
Your INSS2017 name badge can be picked up in front of One West on the first morning of the school. You will need the badge in order to attend the lectures and events, and to join the coffee breaks. If you paid for the optional social events, you will find your dinner tickets with your name badge. Please let us know at email@example.com as soon as possible if you have any dietary restrictions.
Finally, if you are presenting in the poster session, please be advised that posters should be no larger than 36 inches (91 cm) wide by 48 inches (122 cm) tall in portrait format. There is no guarantee that printing facilities will be available, so you should make your own arrangements to produce your poster.
If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
See you soon!
