9 AM Meeting (28 Jun 2017)

Linac

  • Monday evening there was a problem with Q01 power supply and it was replaced.
  • Tuesday's shutdown work included LRF2 4616 driver replaced and Einzel lens pulser modification.
  • Began turn on around lunchtime. A significant effort was required to reduce losses.
  • Running well overnight.
Booster
  • Running well.
  • Accessed yesterday to replace a BLM HV cable and to commission BRF21. This new station has been running overnight.
  • BRF4 later tripped on a PA water leak indication.
  • The laser notcher cavity mirrors were replaced on Tuesday morning and the laser notcher was tuned up and run on $15 cycles and later ran on all cycles overnight.
Booster Neutrino
  • Work was done on tunnel air flow yesterday.
BNB Experiments
  • Running well.
Main Injector & Recycler
  • MI52 vacuum activity was noted yesterday morning but it did not affect beam.
  • Accessed yesterday to repair MI10 BLMs and get the abort line BLMs running.
  • Had a problem with LLRF board failure last night and experts came in to diagnose and repair.
  • Today plan to do a parasitic wire scan since NuMi beam is off.
NuMI
  • Patched the LCW leak yesterday.
  • However there was an off-momentum beam pulse last night that caused vacuum to be lost near the Hobbit door. Experts are effecting repairs and we hope to have beam back by this evening.
NuMI Experiments
  • Running well (with no beam).
Muon Rings
  • Studied loss points around the ring on Monday, followed by optics studies.
  • Accessed yesterday to move a couple quads.
  • Did more M5 studies last night.
  • In 8GeV mode today.
Muon Experiments
  • In access today, will be ready for secure this afternoon and will have magnets up by 1600.
SY120
  • FESS replaced a tunnel fan belt tensioner yesterday but the fan still does not run. Need an access to fix.
SY120 Experiments
  • LArIAT had some DAQ problems but that has been fixed.
  • SeaQuest is taking data.
  • Mtest has no official user now but some experiments are finishing up and beam studies are taking place.
EE Support
  • Monday evening MT2WD2 regulator was replaced.
  • MECAR studies yesterday were a partial success.
  • Replaced a firing circuit in HP3DS yesterday.
  • Inspected MI30L VCB to find cause of past trips.
Mechanical
  • Patched NuMi water leak yesterday.
  • Would like to test HV cables in MI52 if an access happens.
RF
  • MIRF LL VXI card failed and experts came in to diagnose and make repairs.
  • BRF21 was commissioned yesterday and has been running well overnight.
  • BRF4 is down at the moment.
MTA
  • Expect to be running the cavity 24/7 until the shutdown.
Controls
  • Installed a 279 card for Instrumentation group at MI62 yesterday.
  • Experts came in last night to assist in troubleshooting the MILLRF.
FESS
  • Chlorination of MINOS sump continues and we are still dealing with the resulting strainer clogs at CUB.
  • Looking at SY exhaust fan problem.
  • Need an access to repair exhaust fan at emergency exit next to the reflecting pond.
  • Repaired pump #8 at CUB.
  • Friday the road between Wilson Hall and Linac will be closed for concrete work.
