Project status report [Erica Snider]

GausHit Finder Updates [Tracy Usher]

• ICARUS requesting change to GaussHitFinder

  • small interface changes
  • fcl breaking changes, limited to larreco
  • no feature branch name given
  • also updates to Cluster3D, non-breaking, feature/usher_cluster3dupdates
  • dunetpc has an old version of the code, which should be removed, they are deactivated in the CMakeLists.txt

Pandora Updates [L. Escudero]

• Various functionality improvements requested by Fermilab experiments.
• Various questions about how to access specific information.

Jupyter/Root/Gallery Integration [Wes Kutchum]

• Information sharing on how to use the ROOT Jupyter integration features, including instructions on how to setup a private python installation and install a private copy of the Jupyter kernel. It is possible to use Gallery in a Jupyter Notebook as a way to structure a gallery macro interactively, more deliberately, and with a nice user interface, all within the LArSoft user environment. This appears to be a potentially valuable workflow/set of utilities. This could be a way to document tutorials/workflows/instruction sets.

Conclusions

• The only requirement is that the LArSoft-distributed python supports jupyter/metakernel/zmq.

LArSoft vectorization tests: status report [Guilherme Lima]

• Uses VecCore from GeantV - requires extensive code changes - first tests showed a 3x improvement in particular functions doing vector/matrix math - ups packages of VecCore, Vc, and UME::SIMD required - need compilation flags to activate vectorization features of the compiler - need a way to determine vector capabilities of underlying hardware, Vc might be able to do this - next code to test on is some dunetpc modules - grid machines are quite old, which presents obstacles
