Update from John Hicks: Metrics between Commercial Cloud (AWS) to the I2 provisioned caches.
Working with Igor to set up a gridftp test on the commercial clouds. Then test the performance back to the following caches (KS, NY, IL/chicago). OESS tool allows you to create layer-2 and layer-3 VPNs from the edge of the network to the cloud. You can go from the edge into Ashburn and then you address peer into a cluster deployed on the cloud. Igor and John want to do a gridftp test. Tom Hutton (SDSC) has an account on OESS. His endpoints are already configured. We can place Igor into Tom Hutton’s group.
OESS tool website: https://www.internet2.edu/products-services/advanced-networking/oess/
Igor was doing some work with PRP group to do these tests as well. John talked to Tom at PEARC but Igor was on vacation.
Separately from the above:
Xrd third party copy between UCSD and KC cache (Edgar) testing performance.
1, Setup a location/repo/documents were update are collected and displayed. Create a google doc that will contain minutes of these interactions and share them.
2. Find someone to visualize the data from rsv. A student either at Chicago or UCSD to process the data displayed in http://cabinet-10-10-4.t2.ucsd.edu/rsv/
John: Update Houston/SunnyVale. Delivery by mid-Sept due NVMe and Memory. Amsterdam is delivered and it’s being configured.
