2019.22.08 OSG-LIGO CESER

Attendees: Pascal, Edgar, John, Igor

James has a conflict

Agenda:

1. stashcache ucsd to Kansas city. Xrd test: 50 Gib using Http. Target is to get 60 Gib. Multiple streams writing to NVMe. There should be any packet loss but there is some and will try to debug it.

(John will provide root access to the node). Focus on the UCSD-KS for the time being in order to understand the numbers. It will require coordination with SCENIC and Campus. John can diagnose from the edge of I2 to machine at KS.

2. Amsterdam trip (Edgar)

  1. Taiwan director --- supporting LigoVirgo. They have CEs for Atlas, cvmfs, gpus/cpus so adding ligo pilots there should be straightforward

  2. Wlcg benchmarking. LHC might want LIGO workflow in their containers to better gauge performance.

  3. Containerized networks. Lots of work to do. For performance there are lot of libraries to do the convergence between the baremetal and the container.

By Marian Babik, Shawn McKee.

2. Status of pod deployment (John)

  1. Gram and John will work on ansyble script. The sunnyvale and houston are set up. John got the InCommon IGTF host certs.

3. Moving data from sim data directly to a ES (instead of downloading them). How do we do that. Will get root access to stashcache at ucsd.

4. Are RSV probes going away?

5. Status of pod deployment (John)
