At Fermilab:  WH7X (Racetrack)

  • A new shower reconstruction module
    • Lynn Garren asked if the code could be shared with EMShower, and the answer was that although the code is similar it is not the same and does much more than EMShower.
    • There was some discussion as to whether or not EMShower is actually maintained anymore.
    • Kyle Knoepfel expressed a preference for the configure() function to be merged with the ctor.
    • There is a circular dependency with LArPandora which must be resolved before release.
  • Removing more header and link-time dependencies
    • The result was about a 10% improvement in compile/link time, and a small improvement in the size of libraries.
  • LArSoft issue 23013
    • I/O rules are broken since ROOT 6.16.00.
    • The last known good version of LArSoft is v08_15_01, and the earliest known bad version of LArSoft is v08_17_00.
    • A minimal reproducer has been created and the core ROOT team at CERN/Fermilab is investigating.
    • Reading tracks and vertices with LArSoft v08_17_00 and newer does not work properly, and other classes with I/O rules will have problems as well.
    • Until this problem is fixed no physics analysis should be done with these newer versions of LArSoft.
