Minutes and Action Tasks from Oct 31 2019 Electronics and Readout Integration Meeting
· Attendees: Steve, Francesco, Linda, Cindy, Anne, Dan and Ting
- Status of action tasks from last meeting:
- Tentatively we schedule mid of November to pull the three minutes racks to open space at MINOS hall, document the contents using rack-building tool, clean the racks and move them to downstream end under the west catwalk
- Two electrical techs are needed for the labor work
- Clarence to check cable length issue -- want racks in space in between the two groups of Minerva modules
- Ting is to discuss with Cryogenic group to relocated cryocooler at downstream end for the three racks
- Steve mentioned that the network and ACNET rack are at the upstream end of the hall, on the west before catwalk stair
- The network switch there is Gbit switch
- Not easy to move those racks around -- will leave them at the current location
- Need to check Minerva cables to access ACNET signal there
- Steve got the info on the Minerva DAQ servers
- they are out of warranty already
- we will use them for DAQ teststand until we procure new servers
- 2x2 feedthrough, readout and grounding consideration
- Francesco's presentation is posted in the indico. I only listed below some specific issues discussed
- We like to know the detail of grounding return of the HV feedthrough cable
- We need electrical schematics of charge readout and light readout system to understand the grounding scheme fully
- How is the pump inside cryostat electrically isolated?
- Is the cable for temperature sensors shielded?
- It will be nice to measure the potential between cryostat and building
- Linda may has a spare saturable inductor she can send to BERN
- ProtoDUNE at CERN has a spare impedance monitor. Linda will talk to Terri Shaw to see whether this is can be used at Bern during 2x2 testing
- Linda describe the grounding connection scheme for cold electronics of LArTPC
- The APA frame is initially isolated from the cryostat.
- The cold electronics cards are mounted to the APA frame with the circuit common solidly connected to the frame.
- The connection between the frame and the cryostat occurs with the cold electronics LV power return wires by means of the warm electronics crate backplane, mounted on the flange.
- For DUNE, no other sub-system may share the APA frame reference.
- Each sub-system works independently from all others.
- This prevents noise, return current sharing, from one detector type interfering with another.
- Is it beneficial to do the same for LArPixal Pad?
- The isolation material between cryostat vessel and building floor needs to use electrical insulation material such as G10.
- Linda is to calculate G10 thickness -- similar practice done for previous LArTPC
- We have a brief discussion on the SLED and schedules Steve obtained. He will post the material to DUNE docDB
