Scientific Linux 5.3
- RHEL 5 Update 3 was released January 20, 2009
- RHEL 5 Update 3 Release Notes
- The update packages recompiled very cleanly and easily. My thanks to RedHat for packaging them well.
- The installer is currently giving us some grief, or else we would have an Alpha release out.
- Highlights
-- Support for Intel Core i7 (Nehalem) processors
-- OpenJDK included (no plugin though)
-- GFS2 and ext4 included in kernel
-- rpm has been updated to the version found in Fedora 9
-- yum updated
