DESKTOPS: A system reboot will be necessary as the first step in the process to put all computers in a known state before the install. This should happen automatically during the after hours Monday evening. You should be able to logon normally Tuesday morning. Desktop users should exit all running applications and log off their systems when they leave for the day on June 29, 2009 to prevent data loss but leave their systems powered on.
LAPTOPS: We realize there are a large number of laptop users in the Division. Remote installations can be difficult to coordinate for these users. Please open a Service Desk ticket to have a desktop support expert assist if your laptop cannot be turned on and available for the install on the evening of June 29, 2009.
If your system is powered off Monday evening, a member of the Windows Support Service group will contact you to arrange a time to install the software. We realize automated application installation and patch deployment can be inconvenient and disruptive for some and thank our users for their patience and cooperation.
