Description
Efforts to both bring CM-1 into operation and test gun windows and gun are on parallel paths and looming. Coordinate efforts, achieve success in both areas. These weekly meetings will bring subsytem principals together to ensure coordinated work.

MS project Schedule
Meeting #8 Attendees: Klebaner, Martinez, Leibfritz, Harms, Sun, Olson, Pfeffer, Kucera, S. Lackey, Thangaraj, Treptow, Nezhevenko, Pischalnikov, Branlard, Hocker
  • General Announcements:
  • Status updates
    • <High Voltage (Howie) - Pulsed to 10 kV into dummy load; hook up to xformer next: need interlocks made up; test with spark gap; knee from Secondary needs to be connected; cable connections in a couple of days then will need to pulse into klystron: will need oil, vacuum, all interlocks, water, solenoid, etc.</li>
    • LLRF (Branlard, Treptow) - made good progress this week with CC2 operation: Weds with MFC, today with ESECON - 22/23 MV/m closed loop – looks good. Disturbance analysis today. Forward and Reflected power analysis yet to do as well as calibration for accurate eadings from EPICs display based on diode readings. Some discussion on this. CM1 firmware work in progress. Waiting on hardware – boards due next week. Reference line is being designed. Software is mostly done – Labview.
    • Klystron & RF distribution (Oleg) - Filament power is supply not ready – wrong voltage. EE support and RF are working together to make modifications. Estimate sometime next week. Dummy load is ready to go. Cabling in cave needs to be addressed.
    • Personnel safety (Harms per Zifko) - Keyswitch module is being built for safely switching waveguide switch with RF off. Cave access will be controlled administratively during warm coupler conditioning
    • Controls (Kucera, Nicklaus, Lackey) - COW II reqs are being processed. ESECON control of LLRF/DOOCs did not work well due to # of points being plotted on comfort display (13K points is too many!). Dennis is addressing this. Motor controller changeout likely next week after Al Legan gets back. PLC names are needed from McDowell – Firebaugh is back. Database – naming convention in hand; Cryo requests that NML and MDB dataloggers be created identically to existing Tevatron cryo loggers.
    • Cables pulls and termination (Leibfritz and Harms per Carlson) - Virtually all cables pulled; Cryo cables due next week.
    • Equipment protection (Olson) - Need to test system, another 1-2 weeks to finish terminations. Complete multi-trip card, then test.
    • Instrumentation (Yuriy) - Transition boxes will be mounted after waveguide is completely installed. In the meantime, Fred Lewis group has pigtails for gettings signals out for coupler conditioning. Peter has been given the necessary termination information. After the 300 mm pipe welding is complete, add additional thermometry (Fred)
    • Window test/Gun (Ding) - spool piece is being prepped for window test. CC2 Cave neatness is a bit of an issue.
    • Bureaucracy (Elvin, et al) - procedures other paperwork i being prepared.
    • Cryo (Martinez, Klebaner) - pipe cutting on CM-1 is complete. Welding soon. Relief line is done. A written Welding Procedure is ‘2 weeks’ away. Coordination with TD is ongoing.
  • Schedule/Plans
    • Short term
      • Water skid/power outage Friday (0700 – 1030)
        • Dark bathrooms
        • Recovery thereafter
      • CC2 plans for next week
        • LLRF (Chase et al) plus some piezo team - Mon/Tues
        • CD (Gustavo et al) - Weds
        • Yuriy, Warren requests – low level cw, need 30 MHz from Julien for microphonics (done), LLRF supports CW mode, re-tune CC2 – 10^7? - doable, in the future
      • Gun access needs – no immediate needs - cave will be open Thursday and Friday.
    • Cryo – 2K no sooner than June. Suction pipe re-installation will require CC2 warm-up. How CM-1 cryo installation, wall removal, etc. will require careful staging.
    • Longer term - Goal is to be ready to start coupler conditioning by 15 May.
