Jingqiang Ye, "Observation of Excess Electronic Recoil Events in XENON1T"

Abstract: Recently, the XENON1T experiment reported observation of the excess electronic recoil events over the unprecedentedly low background rate of 76 +- 2 (stats) events/(tonne x year x keV). The excess resides in (1, 7) keV region and is most prominent between 2-3 keV. In this talk, I will present the data analysis in this study and various scrutiny checks done for this excess. Several possible hypotheses for this excess will be discussed in detail as well.
