August 31 2020 ArgonCube2x2 Installation Meeting

- Status of action tasks
- Angela checked the gate width requirement of ArgonCube access platform. It is 28" minimum
- The height differences between argonCube access platform floor and MINOS catwalk floors are large enough so we need simple steps on both east and west to bridge the gaps
- The width of east MINOS catwalk is about 7'. There should be no problem to add a simple step without violating egress safe path
- Handrail placement
- The handrail placement method and locations on east and west catwalks are different. We want to use the existing rail installation pockets for the new set of handrails we are going to purchase
- The four rail sections from MINERvA handrails are suitable for west side only. We need to find something temporarily on the east side before we start MINOS module removal
- The new rail section is 7' wide -- drawings are uploaded in the meeting indico page. Gary is finishing up fabrication drawings. Jim is to make list of vendors and quotes for price and lead time this week.
- Jim and Gary made handrail placement from latest mapping of rail packet locations -- screenshot of 3d model is available in indico meeting page.
- We have quite some discussions on the connection between argonCube platform and MINOS handrails sections. The consensus from the discussion is to use existing installation pockets on the MINOS catwalk floors to place handrail sections, then design the argonCube access platform to fit the MINOS handrail sections
- We will discuss again the rail placement after Gary makes the new layout
- Then Min Jeong and Gary will see where to place the argonCube access platform.
- We should using the existing partial rail sections in MINOS as starting points for new rail section placement
- There are pictures i.e. page 3 of the slides posted showing the existing rail sections.
- Gary is to re-make the rail section placement layout all the way to downstream without worrying about argonCube access platform
- Options of saving Hcal modules
- We want to save 12 modules from the 20 Hcal modules
- We will throw away the first Hcal module set (MS23) and last one (MS27) as they might got rain damage
- We expect the storage rack has space left for 10 modules, so we need to find space to storage 2 modules
- We can do this as we have THREE strong backs -- Thanks Jim to remind us on the 3rd strong back
- We will put last two modules from MS26 onto two strong backs.
- Looks like Whiteband building, Lab 6 and 8 are best options to store the 2 strongbacks with modules mounted
- We will also talk to ICRAUS people on their schedule of moving CRT modules away for Whiteband so we can potentiall use their space.
- Tom will look space in Lab 6 and 8 todal
- We discussed options of DAB, SBND and NOvA surface building but they are all not available
- AOB
- This we we will save two Ecal module sets (MS21 and 22) onto storage rack. In Labor-day week, we will dispose first Hcal module set, then save the next 12 modules from the remaining 4 module sets
- We need to get ready for MINOS module removal
- we will use next meeting to discuss those tasks
- we need to finalize safety plan for cutting magnetic coil using reciprocating saw
- Need to get optical cables removed from MINOS modules
- Steve will talk to Tom on detail of removing cables from top of the modules
- We will discuss with Linda to get more time from Skippy and Joe Harris
