SEC DEI Journal Club
It is best to read the article ahead of time, but all are welcome. During the meeting, we will briefly review the key points of the article, and discuss the implications of the results as well as where the field can go from here to address diversity training efficacy, implementation, and goals. (We intend to continue looking at peer-reviewed literature on this topic for the next ~3 biweekly Journal Club Meetings.)
The Article:
Consequences of attributing discrimination to implicit vs. explicit bias", Daumeyer et. al JESP 84 103812 (2019)

The paper is 9ish pages, and describe two trials that come to similar conclusions: sections 3/4 (medicine) & 5 (police). I'll cover both but folkx are welcome to skip one or the other if you're low on time.
Another optional article of interest (relevant but we won't talk about it next week):
"Don't talk about implicit bias without talking about structural racism" (National Equity Project, 12 min read)
