Description

Abstract: In the last decade, and mainly thanks to man-made neutrino oscillation experiments, the neutrino mixing pattern is currently known with limited precision opening the possibility that leptons violate the charge-parity symmetry. This has opened the need for future neutrino experiments. There is no doubt that neutrino oscillations, in the three-neutrino oscillation picture, has been established as the main explanation for the observed neutrino flavor transition, and therefore, alternative explanations have then to be sub-leading. It is then relevant to precisely measure the unknown neutrino parameters, and to improve the precision on the measured ones, in order to reduce the space for alternative explanations, constraining BSM scenarios, or to find something new. The DUNE standard program is mainly devoted to give answer the open questions in the three-neutrino picture, and to improve the precision on the atmospheric mixing angle. At the same time, the DUNE potential to probe several well motivated new physics scenarios is seriously considered by the collaboration. In this talk we discussed some efforts in this direction.

Because of the current situation, seminars will be taking place entirely on Zoom. In the interests of having a productive online seminar, we’ve established the following protocols:
1. Please mute and have your video turned off.
2. If you have a question for the speaker, please use the “Raise Hand” feature and wait to be recognized by the moderator.
3. Please call in from your computer if possible; it helps keep the Zoom traffic down. Please remember that calling Zoom from your phone might result in charges from your phone company.
Because of zoom security concerns, the seminars now require passwords. The password will be embedded in the link in this email, so please click the link in the email to connect to the seminar.

Thank you,
