Description

I will start introducing all the basic ingredients of a typical ion trapping experiment. This kind of experiment is one most advanced platforms to perform experiments in the quantum realm. These include experiments and quantum computing, quantum sensing, quantum simulations, optical clocks as well as fundamental and new physics research. I will review the status and developments of most of the critical techniques needed for such an experiment to work and will concentrate on the challenges and developments in shuttling based quantum information processors, their control and readout. Finally I will say a word of how skipper-CCD could solve some limitations of current readout techniques
