>> Recording in progress. >> Hi, Alessandro. Is everything okay on the Zoom end? >> Yeah. I couldn't connect until now. There was a  >> Oh. Okay. >> I don't know why. I couldn't  it was not started. I asked Amanda if she's  >> Yes. I can connect now too. It was blocked until 10 a.m. >> Yeah. >> Okay. So, tomorrow we'll make it better. We'll do it 9:45. >> I wonder if captioner Amanda, if she's... all set up. >> Okay. Let's ask her and when she's ready we will start. >> There seems to be a waiting room still? Why do we have a waiting room? Anthony, could you release the waiting room, please? >> Yes. I'm doing it right now. >> Okay. Thank you. So, we will have the waiting room or you can just admit all? >> Yeah. I just did that. Waiting room is gone. >> Okay. Thank you. So, are we ready to go now? >> I think we are. I see that the camera is disabled for  and the sharing is disabled for people remote. The sharing. But I think it's maybe you can turn it on later on and make myself and Laura as cohosts. >> It's all set. I enabled the camera. ALESSANDRO: Okay. Great. And the sharing is disabled. >> Anthony, we need people from remote to present. So, we need them to be  >> Yep. I just fixed it. ALESSANDRO: Okay. Yes. Great. Yes. Thank you. And you can make me and Laura also cohosts so in case of needed, we can jump in. Thank you. >> Hi. So, basically, if you are here in the Center in this corner, you will be seen on the video. So, I would just like your students, you want them to be closer to you than in the back. I ask you to come as close as possible to the presenter. Okay. So, the first few rows, please feel free to sit because people, when you are in a discussion you can come down from there and go there. So, yep. So, we have  there are lots of spaces here. And you don't have to look at the green or the red crosses. They were for the students when we started in the beginning with a lot of social distancing that we had to keep. Now the mandate's a little different. Okay. I see everybody is here. I think  I hope not many people outside. Okay. So, we can start this. Welcome to everybody who traveled here and everybody who is connected on Zoom. And this is the first hybrid Workshop for the Energy Frontier. So, please be patient with us as we work through how to host a good hybrid workshop. And please let us know things which we need to fix or improve as we go along so that by Friday we have actually are the experts in holding hybrid workshops. So, I would like to start out with acknowledging the difficult times we are in. (Need file to complete this section – captioner had to reroute to backup) There are about six  there are six entrance and exits to this whole engineering building which is in front. And the hall, which is a physics and engineering building. Carter Harris, after whom this building is named for, he was our first President of ABS after whom the physics building is named for. And the breakouts will be on Wednesday. Sorry. So, as we in this CarterHarris lobby, if you go next to the elevators, there is a corridor which brings us to ERC125 which is a room with desk and tables and could be a place in which you can quietly plug in your computers and work if you want to find a quiet place to do anything. And then if you go down, there's a big open area. Some of you may have come in through this entrance. That's the ERC lobby, this is Engineering Research Center lobby. That's where we will have tonight's reception and will show you how to get there towards the end of this day. This should be in the slides. Wireless access. Many of you may have figured this out and it was also on the website. You can go to BrownGuest wireless. They should work. if they don't, please let us know and we will help you get online. And now some Zoom etiquette. For the hybrid meeting, the Zoom links because of safety will be sent out every day and people have to be registered to get the Zoom links. For each session, two organizers, one on Zoom and one in the room, and then two postdoc helpers. And then the inroom, make sure the presentation is projected both from the room or if the presenter is on Zoom. And introduce the speakers no matter where they are. Whatever happened to our  okay. Yeah. And sort of the Zoom  introduce the speakers is where I was. Whether they are on Zoom or here in 166. And monitor this time for the speakers if they are in the room. The Zoom organizer will, of course, facilitate the questions which are on Zoom as well as monitor the speakers' time, et cetera, on Zoom. For this first session, Laura is the inroom organizer and Alessandro is the Zoom room organizer. So, that we can start out with  see how this works out. And again, please if you're on Zoom, or here in the room, please raise your hand to participate, physical or virtual. And if there are any issues, then we have our student and postdoc supporters. The supporter for this session is Lienfang Lee. There will be a faculty organizer every day. For the goal  maybe I should stop. Any logistic questions in the room? No. Hi, Michael. You can take your  >> By the way  if you have questions, you can't be heard or observed  >> Yes. I forgot to say that. Yes, we will be circulating that microphone to you. It's not always here. It's here. You can come here and speak or we can  the student helper will give you the microphone. Yes. Inroom participant, please wait for the microphone before you speak. And I forgot  I skipped that. Thank you, Michael. ALESSANDRO: Yes, we couldn't hear the question from the audience. Make sure you have the microphone. >> Yes, and the question was should the microphone be hand to the audience in the room. That's correct. ALESSANDRO: Yes. Thank you. >> I forgot the most important part. Now going to the workshop. I'm going to be very brief because all the topical group conveners today are going to give the reports. And the idea for this workshop is to regroup after all the contributed papers have been submitted. And start formulating the vision for the Energy Frontier as a whole and also for the topical group reports. And some of those topical group reports will be combined by physics topics, et cetera. So, the topical group conveners will discuss all of those in their discussions or in the parallel sessions. So, just as a reminder, the timeline for we are here. The workshop this week. And after that, the topical group reports are due by the end of May. And then the Energy Frontier Report a month after that. End of June. And then we have  we all meet in midJuly to Seattle. So, we have had at least until yesterday afternoon, 122 papers submitted to the Energy Frontier. I would like to take this time to thank all of you. All the authors, all the members of the community for all your efforts in writing  doing the studies, writing these papers and submitting them in time. And this will be very helpful and instrumental in defining the EF vision. We also thank Michael Peskin for his efforts in compiling these submitted papers very diligently on the Energy Frontier website as well as for all the other Frontiers. And we would also like to thank all the topical group conveners and liaisons for organizing these studies. So, some more papers will be coming in the next few days. And some of the authors have already notified us. And the number of submissions by each of the topical groups are here. Some of them have less than the others. But some of them are by construction because they either combine many studies and have a few comprehensive papers or other many papers on different separate topics. This is an amazing amount of work which hopefully we will bring together a coherent vision by the end of May. So, thank you.
