We would like to welcome anyone from UK institutions to the University of Sheffield during the SBND Collaboration Meeting.

The format will be extremely casual, this is just intended to allow some of us to get together again, whilst we are still unable to safely travel abroad.

Really looking forward to seeing everyone!

If you are travelling on the SBND-UK budget then please submit a travel notice prior to booking travel/accommodation.

Here is the agenda for the meeting: https://sbn-docdb.fnal.gov/cgi-bin/sso/DisplayMeeting?conferenceid=12153

Covid-19

Although all government restrictions have been removed, the University of Sheffield has its own safety guidance when on campus, the full details are here: https://www.sheffield.ac.uk/coronavirus/safety-guidance

In summary:

  • Wear masks, if possible, whilst indoors
  • Take a rapid LFT before and during the meeting, if possible
  • If you feel at all unwell during the week, please consider not attending the meeting

Thank you in advance for your co-operation.

Accommodation

The Physics department is located in the Hicks Building, which is extremely close to the city centre and there is excellent public transport around the city. Most things are also within walking distance of the department.

Travel

Paid parking is available in and around the city centre. The train station is a 20 minute walk from the Hicks Building/Physics department (even though it is located on the opposite side of the city, Sheffield is small).

Food and drink

I will arrange for tea/coffee to be available throughout the course of the meeting. Lunch and dinner will be arranged ad-hoc, according to how the meeting schedule is going. There are plenty of shops, pubs, bars and restaurants in close proximity to the Hicks Building.
