This page is meant to help collaborators to apply for VISAs in their own countries.
Many nationalities, mostly from Latin America and Europe, don't require a VISA for a short stay. Here's a comprehensive list of which ones require or not a VISA before coming to Brazil.
Tip: If you hold multiple citizenships, you may enter Brazil with a different passport than the one you used to leave your country of origin. That helps if you have a citizenship that is VISA exempt.
CAUTION: No VISA required from US, Canada and Japan: On Sep 6th, the Brazilian Foreign Affairs Ministry postponed the decision to require VISA for short term visits from US and Canadian citizens, until January 2024. Japan signed a reciprocity clause, meaning that their citizens will remain VISA exempt, for good.
You can read about it in more detail on Brazil's Ministry of Foreign Affairs page (English and Portuguese are on the same page).
If you need to apply for a VISA, you will need an invitation letter from us. If this is your case, access this form and fill in the required information. We will mail your letter to you.
