Description

The success of experimental investigations in neutrino physics depends critically on reliable simulations of the relevant interaction physics, both for signal processes of interest and important backgrounds. As the field moves toward ever-greater precision, including via Fermilab-led efforts such as the Short Baseline Neutrino program and the Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment, the demand for improvements to event generators (the software tools used by experiments to model neutrino scattering) will continue to grow. In this talk, I will present the status of computational efforts to deliver high-quality event generators for Fermilab neutrino experiments. Specific applications to measurements of neutrino oscillations and supernova neutrino detection in liquid-argon-based detectors will be highlighted.
