High resolution calorimetry will serve to maximize the potential for precision measurements at future Higgs factories. This talk will focus on the techniques of dual-readout (DR) calorimetry to achieve optimal energy resolution in hadronic energy measurements, including some historical studies of DR calorimeter performance. I'll also give an overview of plans by the CALVISION research consortium towards realizing a future calorimeter with state-of-the-art performance in both EM and hadronic measurements and touch on some ideas for blue sky R&D.
