1) Reorganization of Tianlai telecons - Peter: reviewed last week's discussion. Decided to have periodic updates on keys topics, starting today. Some topics are:
- Calibration of the dish array with bright astronomical point sources. As the observing proceeds, we can discuss how to divide up the task of looking at the data.
- WIYN-Hydra spectroscopic galaxy survey of NCP - analysis & paper writing.
- Observations of the NCP region at low z for cross-correlation with the WIYN spectroscopic galaxy survey. (Observations need to be made at high z before this transition can be made.) Start making an observing schedule and analysis plan.
- Regular updates about the observations and analysis with the transient (FRB backend)
- Discussion about the observation plan with the extended arrays
- FAST analysis (Yichao, Yougang)
- Cylinder data analysis
- Other goals?
2) Update on calibration of TDA with repeated drift scans through bright sources. Furen. Observe at a constant declination, without repositioning the array, for several days, with a bright source transiting sometime when Sun is down. Have any of these observations happened recently? (Congratulations to Jixia, whose wife just had a baby!) Return to this topic next time.
3) WIYN-Hydra spectroscopic survey. Albert is assembling an Overleaf document. Considering a separate, focused telecon. Return to this topic next time.
4) Latest developments at Tianlai site. Xuelei described new cylinder construction. Foundation is raised to keep aperture at same height as existing cylinders.
5) NSF Proposal plans. Peter reviewed (again) previous comments. Albert suggests cross-correlation of HI maps in NCP region, a topic he recently discussed with Mark Halpern.
Next telecon is in 2 weeks: October 24.
