Please read these instructions before posting any event on Fermilab Indico

Indico will be down for maintenance on Wednesday, July 17th from 7-7:30 am.

The January 2024 MicroBooNE collaboration meeting at the University of Manchester will run from Tuesday, 16th January to Friday 19th January. For those of you from the US who will also be attending the DUNE collaboration meeting at CERN the following week, this therefore provides you the opportunity to travel across the Atlantic once for both meetings.

You can choose to fly into Manchester Airport, or to fly into London Heathrow and then get a train up to Manchester. Some flights from Chicago go via Dublin. Costs for trains vary greatly with time of day and you should reserve the ticket online if you want a reasonable price. Do not buy the ticket on the train. See for example:

https://www.thetrainline.com/

Both Manchester train stations (Piccadilly and Oxford Road) are within walking distance from the meeting venue.

If you wish to get to CERN after the MicroBooNE meeting, then there are plenty of direct EasyJet flights from Manchester to Geneva. Alternative flights are via London Heathrow.

Information for travel to the University is here:

We will be holding the meeting on campus in the Schuster Building, on Brunswick Park.

Participants need to check their visa requirements. If you need a visa, then send a request for an invitation letter to [email protected] asap. US citizens, EU citizens, and citizens of Switzerland do not need a visa to enter the UK.

WiFi access is through eduroam. Please contact us if you do not have eduroam and need a WiFi guest account.

We will organise a collaboration dinner on Wednesday at the Wharf.  Payment/registration details will be sent out later. There are plenty of lunch options in the vicinity of the meeting venue.
