Rainer Meinke , in an SBIR funded company what makes innovative accelerator magnets. They are applying for a phase II SBIR. As part of the proposal they are looking for a place to test their magnet ~18months from now. This looks like a a model magnet test.. 1-2 weeks cold, 2 weeks preparation. There is also mention of probe development to be determined. However, there are real concerns with MTF availability. Hard to know how busy we will be 18 months from now. but chances are with the RF work + LARP it will be a zoo. On the other hand, we could make it clear that this SBIR is of lower priority, and would have to be worked in as schedule allows. Like all SBIR efforts, they would pay the full freight. Could be extra income or overtime paid by SBIR. I explained to Carl that MTF schedule is not part of my jurisdiction, and even if it was, it would have to be discussed with the division management. I promised I would discuss this with MTF and our measurement group. Could we find a time to discuss this in the next few days? Wednesday? Best regards, Mike
