Doga Kurcuoglu - Fermilab - Scalar field theory simulations on qudit systems & Confinement and kink entanglement asymmetry on Ising chain

US/Central
Description

This talk will be two folds:

In the first part, I will talk about the circuit QED system we develop at Fermilab. The QPU which is developed at Fermilab SQMS is qudit based, and the gates are different from standard qubit based QPU. Selective Arbitrary Number Phase Gate (SNAP) and displacement gates are universal gates in this platform. Thus, scalar field theory simulation on this platform is possible with these gates. The talk will be based on native gates and variational methods for gate engineering.

Second part, I will talk about another simulation algorithm. The Hamiltonian in consideration is Ising spin Hamiltonian with three-body interaction term, which has connection to two-flavor QCD, where two kinks on the spin chain are analogous to two fermions. A Trotter simulation of 1+1 spin chain shows that there is an entanglement asymmetry at long time scales.
