security updates during an install20m
For SLF 3.x and SLF 4.x, we will be putting a script into the workgroups that Connie and Troy maintain that will do the security updates after the install. For other workgroups, it will be up to the workgroup maintainers to put the script in.

Scientific Linux10m
Scientific Linux 5.0 - Released for i386 and x86_64
This automatically pokes a hole for openssh. If you install this onsite, you need to make sure this is closed or possibly get blocked for having an unkerberized openssh.
Scientific Linux 4.5 - First Beta out
This has a xen kernel, so that it can be a paravirtualized (client) client.
As of this writting, you can't do the xen paravirtualized install yet, but we will have this ready by the time we release.
The kernel ... has some changes. One change is that on some motherboards, the ethernet cards change from eth0 and eth1 to eth1 and eth0.
Openoffice 2.0 will make it into the release as a "tech preview"
Scientific Linux 3.0.9 - Codename Legacy
Will have a xen kernel
Will have longer security support ... it will be supported with security updates until October 2010 (when Red Hat ends their support)
Will not have all the extra's that we've added.

Scientific Linux Fermi10m
Scientific Linux Fermi 5.0 - status
The alpha version will be out today for i386 (see the demo here for the first time)
The openssh is currently not backwards gssapi compatible, but it will install doing kerberos only, and won't get you pinged by the openssh scanner.
The get-cert didn't quite work, should be fixed soon.
Scientific Linux Fermi 4.5 - status
Beta is out, last friday, for i386.
Scientific Linux Fermi 3.0.9 - Legacy - what does this mean
