Spend a morning at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory, America’s premier particle physics and accelerator research lab, situated on a 6,800-acre site in Chicago’s western suburbs.
For almost 60 years, Fermilab — the neutrino capital of the world — has answered fundamental scientific questions tied to matter, energy, space and time. Fermilab drives American leadership in particle physics with groundbreaking research ranging from discovering subatomic particles, some of the most fundamental units of matter, all the way to the far reaches of the universe through the study of dark energy and dark matter. Cutting-edge technologies developed for particle physics research and accelerators enable Fermilab to play a key role in artificial intelligence and quantum science. Through it all, Fermilab leads collaborative efforts across U.S. national labs and international research institutions to accelerate innovation, enabling more efficient and effective solutions to today’s most complex scientific challenges.
Join us to learn about some of our active experiments and future projects — including muon, neutrino, and quantum research — and meet some of the scientists and engineers that enable our science.
