Communicate and Discuss:
  • Changes to infrastructure packages used by LArSoft
  • Coding standards, guidelines,
  • Release procedures and documentation
  • Continuous Integration, Testing and Validation
  • Release processes and schedules

(Similar to the former General Meeting, but with additional focus on managing the process of code changes)

Minutes from 5/20 meeting
Robert Hatcher, Herb, Liz, Brian, Kazu, Mike, Lynn, Gianluca, Jonathan Insler, Wes,  Bill Seligman 650 714 1279, 559 515 8818, Paul

Lynn - dependencies - ifdhc and ifbeam, nucondb, ifart all change once new version of LarSoft V2.0

art v1_09_03? - uboone - not yet; nutools updated (NOvA); Brian recommends moving. Ok from Herb. Part of V2_00_00. No objections yet from LBNE.

Mark running one test per experiment would be a good starting point. Let Liz know if Mark needs more documentation about the jenkins system.

LArReco: ClusterCrawler;  Librarians: Andrej, Bruce - Bruce was at the meeting.
Geometry:Wire - Librarian: Brian reviewed the new code. Does the CLHEP tmatrix have cpu performance hit?

RawData: Turn on Huffman encoding by default?
LBNE/Jonathan  uses zero compression instead of Huffman encoding. Not clear of the effect yet.
Argeneut decided on Hoffman encoding turned off. Can talk to Mitch about changing the default.
uboone online uses a different Huffman encoding algorithm? Nathanial used LarSoft one for uboone data and did not work. could add this to Rawdata as a new compression type - specific to microboone simulation?
Experiments will turn it on and test.
Can they get documentation for this?

Librarian Reports: Solicit from the Librarians; Hear only those things that will need integrating into the main branch in the next Librarians meeting. Or issues.

MRB documentation - partial

Bill Seligman:
OpticalDetectorData: Kazu
AnalysisExample: keeps it up to date as Lynn changes mrb and makes a change to the instructions on the example.

Ben Carls - next time.

Meeting conflict : Tue 1 pm is the Microboone Calibrations meeting. will ramp up to weekly over the summer and fall. 2pm works for Microboone. (Conflicts wiht Minerva infrastructure)

Lynn will send Mike and Herb instructions for making the LBNE and MicroBoone nightly release.
