The Virginia Tech Sustainable Nanotechnology Interdisciplinary Graduate Education Program (SuN‐IGEP) is a cross-university effort to promote interdisciplinary research in the general area of Sustainable Nanotechnology. This presentation will discuss the successes and challenges of this program, which provides financial support for a number of Ph.D. students with the goal to support development of expertise in sustainable nanotechnology, This presentation will discuss the central educational and research tenets of the SuN‐IGEP effort
