The art and LArSoft development teams will present a one-week course on the use of art and LArSoft this August 3-7, at Fermilab. The goal of the course is to help newcomers to art and LArSoft along the path to becoming able to contribute to their experiment's code, or to the shared LArSoft software. The course is organized as a series of short lectures, each of which is followed by a series of hands-on programming exercises. The course will introduce the purpose and facilities of the art event-processing framework, how to write analysis and reconstruction code using the facilities provided by art, and the basic techniques that help in writing more understandable, more verifiable, and more maintainable. The last day of the course delves into the LArSoft packages. It covers how to use the facilities provided by LArSoft and how to contribute to LArSoft. Note: We have now 50 registrants for the workshop, Please email Saba Sehrish (ssehrish@fnal.gov) and Marc Paterno (paterno@fnal.gov) to be waitlisted.
