An excursion to Chicago is planned for the afternoon of Wednesday, September 30, 2015. The excursion will begin at 1:00 p.m. when participants will be picked up in front of Wilson Hall and transported by motor coach to Chicago to board Chicago's First Lady for a two-hour Chicago Architecture Foundation River Cruise. The tour shows more than 50 architecturally renowned buildings along the Chicago River, revealing how the city grew from a small back-country outpost into one of the world’s most important crossroads in less than 100 years. Beverages and snacks will be available for purchase throughout the tour.
After the boat tour ends, participants will have an opportunity to visit various Chicago landmarks and have dinner on their own in a restaurant of their choosing.
At 9:30 p.m., a motor coach will pick up participants at the Randolph Street bus stop for transport back to Fermilab.
The cost of this excursion is $80 for an individual and $135 for a participant and companion. There is no reduced price for children. Tickets must be purchased in advance on line while registering on a first come first served basis.
