Crew Chief Operations Summary
MSS concerns, static line repaired in West Chicago. “repair briefly impacted Muon Campus”. Wednesday BNB beam during day.
Linac
Running well, a few issues with drifting quad 509, techs looking at LRF5 issues.
Booster
RF guys got BRF17 back online, things are going well.
Booster Neutrino
Will turn off again at 6:30 tomorrow Thursday,. will resume operation throughout weekend.
BNB Experiments
Running well.
Main Injector & Recycler
Rebooted nodes at MI10 and MI20. Studies at 14:00 for about an hour {approved}, no beam to anyone, want to continue fast ramp studies but should have minimal impact, should probably keep ~700 KW.
NuMI
Running OK, kicker pulling permit overnight, will access RAW room and look for leaks. @ 14:00 {need .5 hr cooldown.}
NuMI Experiments
MINERvA had a problem with a power supply in the MINOS detector, NOvA running well.
Muon Rings
Precautionary turn offfor feeder/static line work yesterday, replaced power supply in Q801, tracked down problem with BV800 (output from CIA crate never connected to c200 patch panel, now should pull abort), M3 line optics studies, g-2 turned on on owl shift, ~11 Hz, {max=12 Hz.} Waiting for FE resolution for TOR107 data collection {missing data points} Minimal impact tuning.
Muon Experiments
Turned off yesterday precautionarily from fear of power disruption, yesterday came back up in afternoon and did a trolley run in afternoon, plan to continue running. Maybe owls or day Saturday for planned disruption (access to look into kicker voltages and measure); to investigate problem with turbos tripping off (want to exclude radiation as an issue), want to place in some area monitors and do a survey. Will access at 14:00 and will take an hour.
SY120
Off yesterday and today for experiment. changeover. Did studies to dump, this afternoon want to try a pre-pulse to try to get HP3US to come up in time for spill. Can do first part of study (Stan) but maybe not rest (Steve H. not available) should be able to at least verify event in timeline and running in old mode, will also start at 14:00 today.
SY120 Experiments
Changing over experiment today. ORC at 10:00. Will likely request beam this evening (early, 4-6 somewhere). Probably running in120 GeV mode.
ES&H
Noted that we did get rain the other day and didn’t have any exhaust fan problems in BNB.
EE Support
Nothing to report.
Mechanical
East Anode Skid (Booster) conductivity dropping, keeping an eye on it. MI-30 LCW pump 1 tripped off twice yesterday, pulling fewer amps than other 2 pumps, FESS is aware and looking at MCC and may request opportunity to turn it off. Column III resistivity “acting weird” (conductivity dropping) May need makeup.
Fluids
See mechanical.
RF
Running fairly well, looking into hinderance trips (BRF17 got wet, dried out), Booster anode resistivity middle one seems to be having issues (inlet and outlet OK), but will have to devise a plan. Actually running at 15.0 Hz but display 15.01. (ops will investigate.)
Controls
Primary keeper for MI-BLM nodes isn’t here this week, we should contact the backup.
Instrumentation
Problem with S60TOR node when it tries to read a settings property FE doesn’t seem to respond, looking into it.
FESS
Will need an MCC outage for MI-30 LCW pump, hopefully will just be an ' Advantage' starter; going into MINOS to replace a motor on the fan coils (replace from DC to AC), “bringing light to dark places,”(relamping) could run MI without 30, but trips cause complications. {MCC work postponed to a later date.}
Miscellaneous
14:00 today: Mi studies, NuMI RAW room access, SY HP3DS study, maybe some RR PS investigation.
