The Integration element of the LBNF/DUNE Project was established in 2019 to coordinate underground work at the far site to install and commission the DUNE far detectors, following LBNF Far Site Conventional Facilities Acceptance for Use and Possession, and at the near site to install the DUNE near detectors in the underground cavern. Integration provides overall coordination, technical labor, cavern infrastructure and general tooling, while installed deliverables (including specialized tooling, such as unique rigging fixtures, mounting platforms) are received from DUNE, LBNF and Installation Planning teams. For the far site, Integration provides the coordination of the activities, from receipt of deliverables in South Dakota to the commissioning phase for the DUNE Far Detectors. Prior to installation, Integration Project Office and Technical Coordination provides installation planning. The LBNF/DUNE-US Project Director, the Integration Project Director and the Integration Project Manager are requesting an external assessment to evaluate the Far Site Integration scope, schedule and risk to ensure readiness of this scope as the LBNF/DUNE Project progresses toward CD-2 in 2020.
