Description
The Electrochemistry Discovery Lab (EDL) is a unique facility specifically developed to spearhead the new paradigm of battery R&D that is central to the mission of JCESR. This talk will detail the EDL’s efforts to understand, at atomic and molecular levels, the activity, stability and selectivity of chemical transformations underlying beyond Li-ion battery systems. It will also discuss the EDL’s function as a research hub within JCESR, where collaborators from Argonne and other JCESR institutions are able to visit and make use of the unique capabilities that have been developed. These capabilities also serve as an ideal platform for collaborating with theoretical efforts, where precisely tailored experiments can provide unique inputs into computational models in order to better understand the electrochemical behavior of these systems.
