OSG Campus Grids Meeting

US/Central
Feynman Computing Center, Room FCC2A (Fermilab)

Feynman Computing Center, Room FCC2A

Fermilab

Kirk and Pine Road Batavia, IL
Dan Fraser
Description
Identify what is needed to create a replicable model of a Campus Grid that campuses could readily adopt. We would like to understand what works, learning from some working campus grids (e.g. Nebraska, Clemson, Purdue, GLOW) and figure out if it is possible to create a more general solution.

For those dialing in we have a conference number set up at 866-740-1260 2625776#

The report from the 2010 Workshop is here.

Specialized Topics and Discussion (Session Chair: Brian Bockelman)

5 Minutes per presentation / 10 minutes initial discussion each.
      - Configuration: e.g. What schedd's need to talk to whom
      - Accounting strategies e.g. How many CPU hours have we given to Purdue, and how many have we gotten
      - Security: e.g. There are different security requirements for "HCC-jobs-on-HCC-resources", "HCC-jobs-at-Purdue", and "HCC-jobs-on-OSG
      - Job matching and routing: How do we make sure users end up on nodes they can run on
      - Aggressive expansion: Why stop at HCC and Purdue? It'd be nice to also include Clemson, GLOW, and maybe OU and Mich in the fun.
      - A proposed architecture for Campus Grid replication (Derek)
