      Current sprint 15m

      dunedaq-2.8.0 / FW-2.0.0

      Main objectives
      - TPG chain

Speakers: Ivana Hristova (STFC RAL), Jim Brooke, Dr Konstantinos Manolopoulos (Rutherford Appleton Laboratory), Konstantinos Manolopoulos (Rutherford Appleton Laboratory), Roland Sipos (CERN), Stoyan Trilov

      Timing 15m

      Technical developments & future plans

Speakers: David Cussans (University of Bristol), Stoyan Trilov

Dave N. working on debugging rx path issue affecting some timing hardware

      Work happening in parallel on:

      • FIB+AFC support in firmware and software
      • 50 MHz build support in firmware and software
      • PD-I fanout unit support in timing lib
      • Test automation script

Question: What firmware+hardware combinations do we need to support? Is it just COLBOX (+HSI) timing hardware?

      Readout (FW & SW) 15m

Technical developments & future plans on Readout Subsystem.

Speakers: Antony Earle (University of Sussex), Filiberto Bonini (Brookhaven National Laboratory), Mr Florian Grotschla (CERN), Ivana Hristova (STFC RAL), Konstantinos Manolopoulos (Rutherford Appleton Laboratory), Konstantinos Manolopoulos (Rutherford Appleton Laboratory), Roland Sipos (CERN), Shyam Bhuller (University of Bristol)

Firmware developments & testing (K. Manolopoulos)

      • Can now play data through the 12ch vanilla FLX using both the emulator and the ZCU102 as a source.
      • Kunal is working with a 12ch vanilla FLX bit file that includes an ILA in order to get some captures of the Decoder output.
      • David is working on the WIB2 version of the Unpacker
      • Erdem, Francesco and Mattia are working on the common Data Reception block that can support WIB1 or WIB2.
        • Erdem's changes have been ported
        • The "DPR" name has been changed to Data Transpose Buffer
        • Francesco and Mattia are now working on their part of the DR
      • W. Wulff fixed some bugs in the CB and produced a user's manual. Erdem will now test this and verify it is properly working.
      • Ivana and Kostas will arrange an intermediate fw release.
      • Work on changing the TP output format ongoing
        • currently working on buffering the found hits and changing the required number of "clk ticks over threshold" that marks a hit. This will determine the amount of extra resource needed. (can be changed easily in the future)
        • need to discuss with Ivana the corresponding changes in dtp-sim

      Felix-pie (A.Earle)

      • Trying to integrate ipbus interface on VC709 test project. Ran into a couple of implementation issues so trying to modify the ipbus interface module to get around this
      • Then looking to test with ILA core using fromHost DMA transfer DUNE-DAQ test application

      Software (Florian) :

      • Merged restructuring of readout (changed flxlibs to work with the new structure)
      • Refactoring: Use one request handling routine that works with all latency buffer types
      • Now: Solve potential concurrency issues in readout by implementing a robust request handling loop that lets data requests and cleanups run separately
    • 07:45 08:00
Trigger Primitives (FW & SW) 15m

Technical developments & future plans on TP specific firmware and software.

Speakers: Antony Earle (University of Sussex), Ivana Hristova (STFC RAL), Konstantinos Manolopoulos (Rutherford Appleton Laboratory), Kunal Kothekar

TPs and other topics (I. Hristova)

      - generating WIB2 test patterns
      - fixing the DR testbench script
      - discussion with DS about TP readout and post-processing in the readout to
prepare the TPs from the firmware for DS usage, work can start once the
the above urgent firmware tasks are done
      - this was a useful discussion as we clarified all the remaining questions
before any work can start, we have a provisional plan which we have to
do and see how it is going to work
      - will have a discussion with Kostas about the next firmware release

      Integration 15m

      Integration status at:
      - CERN
      - Bristol
      - UPenn
      - ICEBERG

Speakers: Kunal Kothekar, Roland Sipos (CERN), Shyam Bhuller (University of Bristol)

      Bristol Test Stand:

      What has been done:

       - tested emulator with vanilla 12-ch bit file with and without debug cores

       - ran "Configure the FELIX card" instructions in flxlibs, a better summary of the output should be implemented for flxlibs

       What needs to be done:

       - Compare readout from ZCU to the FELIX emulator

       - Try using DUNE-DAQ to readout data from the FELIX card. Figure out how to store readout in a file
