Hi everyone, I'm Rhiannon, a postdoc at the University of Sheffield working on DUNE FD calibrations & short baseline oscillations with SBND.
I have thoroughly enjoyed being your Young DUNE IB rep for the last year and would be immensely grateful for the opportunity to continue for one more year. It has been extremely inspiring to engage with you all on the various important topics covered during our meetings and YD lunches. We have seen record turnouts in voting, at our collaboration meeting lunches and at the all-important social events, which I am really proud to have helped facilitate. Thanks to Young DUNE I have met a huge number of amazing people and would love to share that sense of community with other new members throughout the coming year.
That said, Young DUNE isn't without its flaws. If elected, I would work hard to implement more-diverse representation as a standard through new roles within the Young DUNE governance. For instance, we would like to consider the addition of regional and EDI representatives.
Even as a lowly Brit, I believe I can help improve both DUNE & Young DUNE for the sake of existing and prospective early career members, aka: 'The Future of DUNE'.
