For US citizens: Fermilab access will be requested as part of the registration process. Please visit the registration page. Upon request approval, you will receive an informal invitation letter with a QR code, which must be presented at the security gate along with a valid REAL ID (Passport, REAL ID Driver's License, etc).
For Foreign Nationals (including green card holders): Fermilab access will be requested as part of the registration process. You will receive a follow-up email to submit additional information for the Foreign National Access Program. Upon request approval, you will receive an informal invitation letter with a QR code, which must be presented at the security gate along with a valid REAL ID (Passport, REAL ID Driver's License, etc).
A valid REAL ID is required to enter the Fermilab site and is the only accepted form of ID at the security checkpoints. If you do not hold an active Fermilab Badge, or DOE badge, you must present a QR Code (see above) and a REAL ID at the security gates to enter the campus.
