Proceedings

The proceedings of the AAC24 workshop will be published in Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section A (NIMA) as full-length articles. Publication in NIMA will be contingent on the work being presented and will undergo the standard NIMA review process. Co-chair Philippe Piot will serve as the Editor with Xueying Lu for the NIMA AAC24 special issue.

Guidelines

We request all authors to post a preprint version of their paper on ArXiv so that we can compile an ArXiv electronic proceedings. These papers will ultimately be cross-linked to the published version of the accepted papers.

The authors' guidelines for preparing a manuscript for submission to NIMA are available here  (please refer to the "full-length article").

Updates on paper preparation:

November, 1st, 2024:  Given the increasing number of last-minute requests, the manuscript submission deadline for the AAC24 NIM-A special issue has been extended. NIM-A has granted an extension to November 29, 2024, and this updated deadline should be reflected on the NIM-A website shortly. Please do not submit your paper through the standard NIM-A portal but through  https://www.editorialmanager.com/nima_proceedings/default.aspx so you have access the "VSI: 2024 Proceedings AAC24" option.

October, 8th, 2024: Several participants had issue with submission where they reported not having access to the "VSI: 2024 Proceedings AAC24" option. If this happens try logging in from the  https://www.editorialmanager.com/nima_proceedings/default.aspx link.

October, 7th, 2024: Working Group summary: Note that working group leaders are expected to write a summary for their respective groups. This is particularly important because AAC24 did not include a dedicated working group report session. The WG summary report should adhere to the standards of Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research, Section A (NIM-A). The NIM-A editorial board understands that these reports will not present original work but will offer a concise review of the state-of-the-art research discussed during the AAC24 workshop. While we encourage you to take full advantage of the 12-page limit, your report can be concise if necessary. For reference, please see similar examples in the 1st EAAC proceedings; search papers starting with “summary of”. The title of your report should follow the format "Summary of Working Group 1, laser-driven plasma wakefield acceleration"

Submission window (updated Aug. 20th 2024)

The submission to the special issue Proceedings of the 2024 Advanced Accelerator Concepts workshop” of the Nuclear Instruments and Methods (section A) journal is now open. Information on submitting your paper(s) is available at

https://www.sciencedirect.com/journal/nuclear-instruments-and-methods-in-physics-research-section-a-accelerators-spectrometers-detectors-and-associated-equipment/about/call-for-papers#proceedings-of-the-2024-advanced-accelerator-concepts-workshop

You can now proceed in submitting the papers to this special issue. To ensure that all manuscripts are correctly identified for inclusion into the special issue, it is important that you select “VSI: 2024 Proceedings AAC24” when you reach the “Article Type” step in the submission process. Note that the AAC24 papers will be published as regular articles and do not have a page limit (however typical regular articles are usually up to 12 pages).

The submission deadline is November 3rd, 2024.

We thank you in advance for sending your contributions as early as possible to ease the review process and ensure we meet the Editor’s request to have the special issue finalized by the end of 2024 and be published early in 2025.
