Minutes
- Planning for WIYN/Hydra observations - Albert & Greg
- Albert has shared travel plan
- WIYN Survey analysis - Reza. See attached file below.
- Slide 5 is not corrected for extinction
- John suggests 2 additional tests for quality of the WIYN/Hydra redshift determinations: 1) see if correlated structures depend on Quality factor. Most likely effect is contamination of spectra by lines from sky emission. 2) see whether correlations appear both in z and in angle
- Update on Tianlai Dish Array observing status/plans - Jixia
- ROACH GPU server, which had been used for storing dish data (starting in 2013), has been moved to ROACH correlator.
- some power outages have prevented observing for ~ 3 weeks
- Dish server is back, observations of constant Dec strips (with daily views of calibration sources) will resume
- Holographic beam calibrations of E-W beams is underway with dish/cylinders
- ROACH GPU for cylinders has had hardware problems, but OK now? Some software errors in C code.
- Reza suggests terminating inputs to check
- Update on collaboration meeting - Yichao.
- Need to set up website for meeting. Maybe one at Northeastern to advertise meeting and a second one for registration?
- Attendees need to send email to Yichao to get invitation letter for visas
- Cylinder Beamforming and Mapmaking - Zijie Yu - see attached presentation
- Beautiful sky maps! Cas A, M87, Cyg A and Galactic plane are clearly visible. So is Sun and sidelobes.
- Sun substraction works OK
