Tianlai site update - Jixia reports that fiber optic is still broken and hard to access because of the frozen ground.
Summer meeting update
- SOC met on Jan 8. Reza assembled revised meeting topics: https://cirrus.universite-paris-saclay.fr/s/xoYmBKyYii4tymo SOC will edit and suggest invited speakers for each. SOC meets again on Jan 22 to finalize topics and select speakers to invite.
- Haijun will present details about hotels at next call. Two options: 1) international hotel on campus and 2) hotel at West Lake. The latter is more expensive and will attract tourists.
Xuelei reports Shijie is in Antarctica with global spectrum experiment. Hardware issues caused by rough ride on the tractor to Dome A. Plan was to deploy the experiment on the way.
Future calls - we plan to select a junior member (perhaps Xuelei has a candidate?) to present a list of arXiv papers of interest to the group during a telecon. We would then choose one or more people to review the paper(s) at a future telecon.
Topics for next call (Jan 23):
- Shifan will discuss his Tianlai cylinder coupling paper.
- Kai Feng will discuss his imaging paper.
- WIYN NCP survey paper (Albert). John expects to update his data summary by end of the month. Haoxuan Sun (student at Brown) may be available to help with the paper or other Tianlai topics.
- Reza will tell us about his accepted abstract on Tianlai for the Cosmology in the Alps conference: https://indico.skatelescope.org/event/1098/
