Corey Adams (ANL): Neutrino-less Double-beta Decay and/or AI/ML Event Reconstruction

US/Central
Description

Neutrinoless Double Beta Decay is a hypothetical, yet-undetected interaction mechanism in select nuclei, yet also a top priority in the Nuclear Physics Community and the DOE's Nuclear Physics Portfolio.  Why is this subject so interesting to physicists, and how are we searching for it in laboratory settings?  As these experimental searches grow larger and larger, physicists are consolidating efforts around several leading isotopes and experimental techniques.  In this talk, I will present an overview of the neutrinoless double beta decay research at Argonne, including both hardware and analysis efforts to advance the field, as well as our long term role in the quest to discover this interaction.
