Not much was said about summer meeting. Haijun Tian just emphasized that he needed to send a list of foreign participants (speakers and non-speakers) to the government before much else could be done. This I believe includes advertising the meeting e.g. a poster and a “public" website. The list doesn’t need to be complete (or accurate?).
Jixia talked about observation plans
1) there is a broken optical fiber which can not easily be fixed during the winter since it is underground. They have identified a temporary workaround which should fix the problem until Spring thaw.
2) there is a new GPU correlator. Priority is to commission it on the cylinder array. Retuning to a higher frequency band (lo-z) won’t take place until ~July.
Shifan gave a nice presentation on the coupling paper - draft can be found here
Kaifeng Yu also gave a really nice presentation on map making comparing various regularization techniques.
No-one volunteered regarding arXiv papers.
Future meetings: Greg and Peter have teaching conflicts on Tuesday. Poll suggests Mondays might work?
The Chinese New Year begins February 9 - after the next meeting. So we should have a meeting in two weeks and need to determine when that is.
