National Engineers Week was established in 1951 by the National Society of Professional Engineers in conjunction with President George Washington's birthday. Today, it is observed by more than 70 engineering, education, and cultural societies, and more than 50 corporations and government agencies. The purpose of National Engineers Week is to call attention to the contributions to society that engineers make.

This year we are celebrating women in STEM, with a special commemoration of Helen Edwards and the amazing work she did with the Tevatron and a keynote address from Dr. Asmeret Asefaw Berhe, Director of the Office of Science at the DOE.

This talk will discuss Fermilab’s sustainability program and provide an overview of drivers and our current baseline. 4 Robotics

Topic: Robotics

This talk describes various applied robotics efforts at Fermilab, ranging from mobile inspection robots to remote handling and automated assembly. It will also briefly describe the Accelerator Directorate Robotics Initiative group and how we are leading the effort to bring together other DOE national labs in an annual robotics applications workshop.

5 3D Printing

Topic: 3D Printing

See how groups across the lab are using 3D printing to accelerate their work and how you can leverage on-site and external 3D printing resources for your next project. Learn how your group can set up a local 3D printer with minimal overhead, as well as a few design tips for 3D printed components. This session will also discuss what we know so far about 3D printed components in accelerator-specific applications such as cryogenic, high-voltage, vacuum, and radiation environments.

6 BB Session: LBNF Excavation

The DUNE experiment is being built by FRA for the DOE at both the Near Site (Batavia) and the Far Site (Lead SD). This presentation will provide a status update of the excavation being performed at the Far Site to house the DUNE detectors and all associated supporting infrastructure.
