An introduction to HEAs and how they look to address future high-power targetry needs. Gaurav will cover types of modeling techniques, phase stability simulations, the HEA design process, his DFT simulation work, and machine learning techniques to describe atomic potentials. At a subsequent TSD Topical Meeting this will be followed by a discussion of the 2 generations of HEAs so far produced, their ongoing pre-characterization studies and upcoming ion irradiation plans by Abe.
